We’re Just One Month Away from Another Amazing Night!
Philly Fights Cancer, Philadelphia’s most star-studded event, returns for Round 3 on Saturday, October 28, 2017, and will be held for the first time ever at Philadelphia’s iconic The Navy Yard. That alone is amazing, as The Navy Yard is a 1,200-acre dynamic urban development, offering Philadelphia a waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. But that’s another story we’ll be telling on a different day.
What? More Amazing Entertainment?
But in terms of this particular spectacular event-to-come, Philly Fights Cancer: Round 3, GUESS WHAT? Not only is the gala featuring Grammy, Oscar and Golden Globe award-winner, John Legend, as well as a performance from America’s Got Talent star and cancer survivor, Caly Bevier, but more star-studded entertainment has been announced! Beginning with who will host the evening. This year’s Mistress of Ceremonies will be the legendary Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony award-winner, Whoopi Goldberg! Can you believe it? Whoopi is going to whip the crowd into shape, without a doubt!
Wait, Who’s Playing the After-Party?
And, the crazy-amazing show doesn’t stop there! Anyone attending the gala is also invited to stay for the #PhillyFightsCancer After-Party! Get ready to dance the night away because the Round 3: After Party will be headlined by the iconic, 8-time Grammy and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning group, Earth, Wind & Fire!!!! Seeing as how it’s “September” the lyrics “As we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away?” comes to mind! Congratulations to our very own Event Stylist & Coordinator, and co-chair of this year’s Young Friends After Party, Paige Dietz, on planning an unbelievable party. We’ll all be singing our hearts out and dancing the night away… without a doubt!
Awareness Inspires Ground-breaking Support
Planning an event like this, and of this size and production complexity, takes vision, organization, and teamwork. Not to mention keen stage management! Together with the Philly Fights Cancer event chairs and planning committee, everyone at Evantine Design, particularly Brian Kappra, Dean Springman, Saint James Shatzer, and Paige Dietz, comes to this intricate, detail-driven event with one thing in mind. Success. The more entertaining the event, the more thoughtful the planning, the more awareness about the Abramson Cancer Center’s dedicated, life-changing work, the more money is made for cancer research. That’s the success we’re talking about! The more people know about the innovative research being done at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, equates to donations to continue that good work. For instance, the FDA recently approved personalized cellular therapy, a first-of-its kind cancer breakthrough, created at Penn Medicine.
Sadly, as we all know because we have all been affected, the fight to beat down cancer isn’t over. But with the clinical trials and translational research at work, right now, at the Abramson Cancer Center, a cure is that much closer.
What You Get for Joining the Fight
The first two star-studded, sold-out Philly Fights Cancer charitable galas raised $3.5 and $5.5 million, respectively. And, in return, what does each generous sponsor get for that generous support? An amazing evening of iconic entertainment and joyful celebration! Yes, celebration. Because when the community comes together to fight a common enemy, miracles happen. Just watch last year’s celebration… it was an a night to remember!
